Effect of an Intervention Program on Functional Restoration Post Total Knee Arthroplasty

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of the study is to determine the influence of an intervention program on the functional restoration post total knee arthroplasty, so as to establish the relationship between the demographic variables “age, gender, level of education, marital status, occupation, residence, body mass index” and functional restoration.

Study Design: A quantitative design using the a-pre-experimental study
Place and Duration of Study: This study was conducted at the pre and posttest on one group in AL-Jamhour Teaching Hospital, Mosul City from 6th July 2025 to 17th January 2026.

Methods: The objectives of the study were measured by self-administered questionnaires on the 30 patients who received exposure to the intervention program which was non-probability (purposive) sample. The statistical test employed (SPSS) version 26, descriptive statistical (frequency, percentages, mean of score) and inferential statistical analysis (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test) was employed in the analysis of the data.

Results: The study finding the a statistically significant (P < 0.001) but substantially improved patient information was noted between sample of the study members; at post-test and pre-test.

Conclusion: This study concluded that patients in the sample of the study had a significantly better information at the post-test after taking the intervention program.
